Proxies

Anonymous proxies, cookie hiding proxies, email proxies, and any other form of proxy is not allowed on the server. Any proxy found running on any account will be immediately disabled, and the user notified. If attempts to continue running proxies are made, the account may be suspended without further notice given.

Proxies are server abuse, they consume many cpu cycles, bandwidth, and use high amounts of memory. In addition to that, they are many times used for illegal purposes. Any and all such scripts already running must be disabled with immediate effect to avoid any inconvenience. This notice includes all forms of proxies that may be run, from cgi, perl, php, python, asp, and asp.net, or any other scripting language, along with any form of XML based proxies. We will be continually policing the servers for these scripts or programs, and if found they will be permanently disabled. This was already against my providers and eLime's Terms of Service agreement.

Tools to check MSN blocked status, Yahoo blocked status, AOL Blocked status, ICQ blocked status, or any other IM network user blocking are not allowed. This is simply another form of proxy and it has proven time and again to be very bad on server CPUs and memory, causing high loads and memory usage for simply checking if you are "blocked" on a messenger service.

If you have any questions feel free to submit a support ticket.

Maintenance For April 13

The maintenance for April 13 has been postponed due to incompatibility issues with new hardware. Check back to see when the maintenance will happen.

Web Mail

I have switched back to Horde Web Mail due to issues with Round Cube. For now eLime Hosting is going to stick with Horde until we can get the kinks worked out with Round Cube.

Round Cube Update

http://webmail.elimedesign.com is back online with the new web mail application Round Cube. Your are required to use your full email address (ex. bob@domain.com) when logging on. If you are not logged in right away please click the refresh button in your browser then try logging in again. If you see a CGI Error when trying to log in please send me an email and I will get it straightened out. When logging out you may be automatically redirected to elimedesign.com.

To fix most of these issues as of right now please clear your browsers cache and cookies. Then restart your browser and try again.

This weekend a email rule will be set to send all emails marked at SPAM to a junk folder in web mail. Meaning you will need to log into web mail to check for spam messages.

If you still see problems don't hesitate to contact me.

Web Mail Application

I am working on Round Cube this morning for the new web mail application. If you go to webmail.elimedesign.com you will see database errors. Hopefully webmail will be back online around 12 AM MST.

Until webmail.elimedesign.com is back online you can use http://roundcube.elimedesign.com for the time being.

Online Billing System

I am working on setting up a online billing system for hosting clients.  Hopefully I will have it live by the end of April. I still have several things to test with the system before it goes live.

Zend Optimizer P3

The problem has been fixed and the server sees the install.

Zend Optimizer P2

The install is done but the server is not recognizing the install.

I am currently working on getting things straightened out.

Zend Optimizer

I will be installing Zend Optimizer tonight at 7:00 PM MST. There is a 5-15 minute down time expected during this install. Also Horde Web Mail will be offline for 25 minutes (during the install and after the install) while the config is updated.

Updates will be posted here on the blog.

Plesk Restart Complete

I forgot to update but the Plesk restart finished at 9:31 AM MST. There was about a minute of down time.

Plesk Restart 9:30 AM MST

At 9:30 AM MST I will be doing a quick restart on Plesk. The restart is happening since DrWeb (virus scanner) is using more RAM than normal the past few days.

Expected down time is around 7 minutes.
